What are the different types of cosmetic bottles?

The shape, size and material of some cosmetic containers are usually determined by the raw materials. For example, cream, cream eye shadow and blush are usually related to small, round glass bottles with large mouths, while lotions are usually placed in high containers with a narrow opening at the top. Nail polish bottles are usually small and made of glass, while the nail polish remover is in larger plastic bottles. Perfume is usually in small glass bottles, while shower gel, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner are in large plastic bottles.

Just like the change of clothing style, some designs of cosmetic bottle also change with the change of years. For example, some plastic bottles used to hold shower gel have a hook at one end so that they can be hung on a shower curtain rod or shower head. This is a modern innovation, because hooks were not used in any cosmetic bottle until the second half of the 20th century.

Antique perfume bottles are usually more gorgeous than those used to pack perfume and Cologne. Some cosmetic companies offer oddly shaped bottles, including cars, dogs, Christmas decorations, Santa Claus and other characters. Another difference between antique cosmetic bottles and modern cosmetics packaging is that the old bottles often have embossed information such as company name and product quantity. Today, the information is usually a label on the container rather than an imprint on the glass.

Cosmetic bottles need to be covered to ensure that the contents do not spill or leak, and maintain the fragrance. Some bottles have threaded openings so that the lid can be tightened, while others have no threaded openings and only plastic caps can be tightened. The bottle must be able to provide a tight and safe fit, not only to prevent leakage, but also to enable any mechanical device, such as pumps or sprays, to work normally.
